Skioni through the ages
Built near the first colony of ancient King Skionas. According to Thucydides, Skioni was built by the Pellines of Peloponnese during their return from the Trojan war. Later, the Athenians relocated the Plateans to the city.
The Tsaprani village was the ancestor of the modern Skioni village, the inhabitants of which gradually moved closer to the seafront at the second decade of the previous century.
Skioni today
Skioni is a picturesque village that combines a pine forest and the turquoise waters of the sea. It bears the biggest Kassandra harbour, a designated fishing reserve.
The Skioni beach has been awarded a blue flag and bears a playground for our little friends. In the village center one can find all necessities, like a pharmacy, bakery, ATM and many restaurants, tavernas and music bars.
